[DISCUSSION]

Site identity - relevant in today's architecture?

This experiment is dealing with whether we can create architecture based on site "identity". It could be interesting to discuss if it still would be relevant to do so. What is site "identity"? and does it make sense to talk about this in the world of architecture today? Should it be the site that defines the architecture? or should it be the architecture that defines the site?

Has architecture changed? Has it become more important to reach the masses rather than the individual? Is architecture becomming a pop phonomenon? where we simplify the message (the architecture) to reach a wider audience?

[WATER STUDIES]

The ocean has a huge influence on the identity of the site - in an attempt to capture this identity, a water machine was developed. This water machine captures the movement of the waves, translating it into a 2D drawing.
Drawings formed by use of ink.

The drawings get transformed into interpretation models, capturing architectural and spatial potentials.Through photography the interpretation models get transformed back to a 2D image.
